Licensed technicians for natural gas and propane water heaters. Pilot light repairs, gas valve replacement, full installations, and emergency service.
Gas water heaters involve combustion, venting, and gas line connections that require specific training and licensing to service safely. Improper gas work can lead to carbon monoxide leaks, gas leaks, or fire. Florida Water Heater Solutions is licensed and insured for all gas water heater work including repairs, installations, gas line modifications, and venting upgrades.
The most common gas water heater call. Usually caused by a failed thermocouple — the safety device that detects whether the pilot flame is present. When it fails, it cuts the gas supply as a safety measure. We carry replacement thermocouples on our trucks and typically complete this repair in under an hour.
The gas valve controls both the pilot light and the main burner. When it fails, the water heater will not heat at all. Gas valve replacement is a more involved repair than a thermocouple but still usually completed same day. On older units where the gas valve is no longer available, replacement of the entire water heater may be necessary.
If the burner flame is yellow instead of blue, burns unevenly, or produces soot, the burner assembly needs cleaning or replacement. A dirty burner reduces efficiency and can produce carbon monoxide. We clean and inspect the burner assembly as part of our standard repair service.
Gas water heaters produce combustion gases that must be vented safely out of the home. If the vent pipe is damaged, disconnected, or improperly sized, those gases — including carbon monoxide — can enter your living space. We inspect the venting system during every gas water heater service call.
New gas water heater installations in Florida must meet current building code requirements for gas line sizing, venting, seismic strapping (where required), expansion tanks, and drain pan installation. We handle all of these requirements and pull the necessary permits. If you are upgrading from a standard tank to a tankless gas unit, additional gas line capacity and different venting are typically required.
We service both natural gas and propane water heaters. Many homes in rural areas of Manatee and Sarasota counties use propane rather than natural gas. The repair and maintenance procedures are similar but the gas orifices and pressure settings differ. Our technicians are trained and equipped for both fuel types.
